NEW EXHIBIT
This year's new exhibit observes the 50th anniversary of the abrupt shutdown of the Chicago, Aurora, & Elgin passenger service on July 3, 1957. CA&E trains not only transported hundreds of commuters, but also carried daily newspapers, parcels, and even milk cans going to Chicago dairies.
In this exhibit are photographs and historical information about the "Roarin' Elgin" - CA&E's famous electrified rail-line that once "roared" through Villa Park, with important stops at the Ardmore Avenue and Villa Avenue stations. Included in the exhibit are model CA&E train cars.
